Antivirus

My “Norton Antivirus” subscription is up.
I’m game to try something different.
I found a product called “The Shield 2005 Professional”.

Has anyone tried this product or can recommend a different one?
Maybe there’s a good free one out there?

My new computer came with Norton, and I hated it. I deleted it and got better results with the free McAfee version through AOL now.

i would, once you're all done removing installing etc... it's a good idea to run some kind of registry repair tool. norton is very invasive.

yes - get rid of it. that norton killed my fucking internet connection and caused my entire pc to crash immediately after the error. even if you uninstall it, it secretly sits in your registry. i've just re-formatted because of that shit. thankfully, i got away with formatting just the primary partition because i didn't have enough removable media to back up the other. i now have AVG. i just put it on today and can do without any more broken fingers caused by losing my temper at the only computer i own.

Trend Micro Officescan 7.0 w/damage cleanup, and Microsoft Anti Spyware for good measure... Oh, and a router/firewall. You'll be all set. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
