• JON E. LOVE - UNDERATED?

Thought this guy smoked with Love / Hate on the first few LP's. Wrote some cool riffs and solos. Anybody have input / current info on this AWOL talent?

Would be an interesting fill in dude / 2nd guitarist for Mick Mars if Crue ever has an opening.

Think he played a Floyed Fender Strat that was modded. Anybody remember his setup?

all i remember was him playing one of those alvarez scoop strat-styles in the why do you think they call it dope video. that thing was weird; i wonder how many of them broke?

always liked his playing; that first LH album is hotter than a urinary tract infection.

I never heard the rest of them, but Blackout was a wicked LP....

Love "Happy Hour" off the 2nd LP, Wasted in America.

Love / Hate parted co. with Jon at some point and their sales continued to decline (hard rock / metal style of music considered out of vogue).

I only have Blackout In the Red Room and it kicks ass! I don't think Jon's underrated so much as that he came out at a time when the whole genre was starting to wind down. Compared to the premier shredders he was just okay, but compared to the grunge and nu-metal guys he's a god. The reality is he played some cool shit on that album and made a mark, and hey, isn't that enough? His name will pop up in studies of the metal era many years from now.

Yeah, but compared to C.C. DeVille and Mick Mars, Jon is George Lynch!

You can download cool L/H tunes absolutely FREE! Even liked most of their tunes after the 2nd LP.

What a scary, twisted, ass-kickin' band! "Jon" never sticks out in particular as an guitar master, but the tunes were the $hit. Thanks for reminding me about those nut cases--cranking Blackout this very second.

They recruited a Shrapnel guy for thier 2nd or 3rd cd. It was okay, but he didn fit the band.Damn, i can't remember the name of the guy. I just remember him on the cover of his shrapnel in a plaid hoodie and a washburn.Tommy? Was that you, lol.

So does Nikki Sixx, Vik Foxx, and other assorted glam / metal artists. Those are parody stage names. They're supposed to sound like stripper names! The big hair, sissy clothes, and makeup kinda enhanced the effect - hot slutty chicks dug it!
