There is so much in our to be thankful for, as far as our way of life here in this country, and most of it due to their sacrifices. Nothing but my utmost respect to these men and women who sacrifice everything to serve their country.

God bless the US military and all veterans, current and past. I spent the day with my wife's grandfather, who earned three Purple Hearts in WW2. The first one was on Utah Beach on D-Day. We went and saw a Veteran's Day parade, then out to lunch, then for a drive. We owe people like him more than we can ever repay. He wore his Purple Heart hat and most everyone was very respectful, especially the people in the parade who would walk over and shake his hand. A few months ago he gave me the Bible he carried in his pocket through the war and I have it on my desk. He's a hero of mine.

Here's a picture of my grandfather-in-law. He's mostly deaf in one ear from his second Purple Heart (explosion nearby, shrapnel, etc). He actually made it through most of D-Day unscathed. He was shot by a German sniper late in the evening and spent the next few months in the infirmary. The guy on the left is Command Sargeant Major John Leonard of the National Guard.

It's good to put a face to a name.

Got a call from a buddy of mine last night to go on a local talk show today wanting to talk to veterans and hear their stories. I told a couple stories about my time in Desert storm and all these people called in and made me feel amazing and now seeing you guys on here with your praises. Thank you. Thank you very much for your kind words.
Went to the veterans home to see my grandpa. He's the greatest guy and it was such an honor to spend veterans day with him. The WWII guys are such a different breed. They truly are the greatest generation, and there is many great things to say of our current generation serving today. I am so proud to say they are my brothers and sisters. What a great day.
