• Newbie to JCF

Hello, I have been playing guitar for over 20 years now and recenly bought my first Jackson. It's incredible! Up until now I've been using BCR handmades, Gibson V's and ESP customs, prior to that it was 70's Strats only. I've owned alot of other guitars too but basically stuck with these.

Last month I played one of my students solosits(trans blue finish w/crome hardware) and I thought it was built solid. Well, the seed was planted and I began to think about getting one. I ordered a back soloist SL1 and couldn't wait for it to get here. Once it arrived I had it set up with 10's and straight off to a show I went. I can't beleive the thick sound and speed I acheive on this guitar. needless to say I'm hooked and the others haven't gotten any play since. Well, maybe a little... I was doing a comparison between my main guitars and still kept coming back to the Jackson. Now, I'm already thinking of getting another one(you know...for a "Back up"). I've got my eye on a King V for now so I'll give it some time to fester and put some of my other guitars up on e-bay to help finance it. I should have Jackson pics from the recent shows soon.

Anyway, my band has a CD coming out in Dec/January on Metal War Productions w/distrobution though Century Media. We're a thrash band. Our web site is www.lamentband.com I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think. Things seem to be going well. I can't wait to start recording the next CD(next week) with my Jackson.

I'm looking fowad to learning more about Jackson/Charvel.

Thanks & sorry for the long post
- John

Dude, welcome to the JCF!!!

I listened to one of the MP3's on your site and I like it. Heavy, fast and I can understand your singer - killer stuff. I don't know why, but it reminds me of some of the older Kreator stuff. I hope that doesn't offend you - I love Kreator. Again, welcome!

One of my favorite bands is Kreator, funny, I just watched a live Kreator Rockplast show to get pumped up for my show on Saturday. Well, maybe I watched it a few hundred times before and after too...

Thanks, for the cool welcome. I've enjoyed reading as much as a can here and there. I need to get on late when I can be left alone to read through.

Re: Newbie to JCF

Yeah, that's the first gig for me and my Jackson. I've got pics from the next two that are so much better. I didn't like the stage in this one, but it was a great club and a killer crowd. The most recenty club we played was huge with a full stage and lighting system. We were asked to go back in two weeks and do a 1.5 hour set. They're treating us really nice, it's different.

I'll put up some more pics tomorrow when I have more time. I still haven't been able to sit down and check out the entire board yet.

Wow, that Rockdetector pic is so old. We don't even look like that anymore.

RacerX - Love that band. Any relation there?
