What?
Well that is certainly different.
I think it would be hella funny if you thanked every single person individually for their reply, answer, threat, whatever. If I were you I would TOTALLY do that on that forum now.
Not to be a dick or anything, just to have some fun.

Hey thanks flameraxe52, I appreciate that.
Thanks AGAIN flameraxe 52, you sure are cool.
Flameraxe52 you are my HERO! Mucho thanks, man.
Dweeziljunkie, thanks for the info!
Stringjammer, you rock. Thanks so much!

I think a follow-up post to a thread you start is totally sufficient. You know, like an "awesomeness, I've read what y'all have said, cool beans" kind of post.

Re: Forum etiquette: Thanking others for their replies

I almost always thank people for their replyes, that's because there Is always atleast one grumpy person in every forum who thinks that I hate him If I don't say thank you. So instead of taking the risk of getting hatefull e-mails that says that someone wants to brake my fingers, I say thank you, It's not that hard.

On the other hand, I don't mind If I don't get a thank you after I've helped someone, but It's always cool when you get that. It makes you feel appreciated and very smart

my 2 cents..

You want to spam them with ingratitude?

That's hilarious.

Some people insist on having their egos stroked at every opportunity. Fuggem.

And if you don't thank me for this reply, I'll be pissed.

I don't want to spam them. That would be rude. But I do have questions. I feel that these folks could answer my questions.

...and you would not thank them. That is the funny part.

and it has kind of bummed me sometimes that after carefully wording a lengthy response to a cry for assistance that the thread quickly disappears off the front page, without knowing whether the response has been any help or even noticed by OP. But in the end, I don't really care. The info's out there now, whether they read it or not is up the them.

I feel the same when the original poster doesn't even come back and acknowledge the thread they started in the first place. That's always kinda bugged me.
