  • basic electronics wiring question

hi guys. Quick question. I am wiring this little schematic

    http://edrum.for.free.fr/modules.php...howpage&pid=48

Now, I went to an elec store and bought the parts, but I need to know the basics.

Do the diodes or resistors need to be a certain way/direction, or can eithe rend be soldered up?!?

If so, how do you tell which way is "up"

I 'll say this so you have some info before some that really is a expert comes.

Diodes need to be certain ways as they are directional.

Resistors don't have direction and are not directional.

Cleve is correct. For the diodes, they are marked with a line, which corresponds to the line in the drawing symbol.

You also have a transistor in those schematics. Those guys have 3 legs, they are not labelled, and there is no standard for which leg is which.

If you have a digital multimeter with a transitor test function, you can determine which leg is which. One will be E (Emitter), the other will be C (Collector) and the last one will be B (Base). In the diagram symbol, B is the straight line, E is the line with the arrow and C is the other line.

My advice is to get someone who knows what they're doing to do it.
