I think it has to do with the hard disk spinning all of the time and sapping all of the power... Who knows, maybe in a few years 10 GB of flash memory will be as cheap as 1 GB is now. I wouldn't be surprised if high-cap MP3 players ran off of triple As then.

Given a choice, I'd rather build a player around doubleAs, which are cheaper than tripleAs. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Oh yeah, good point about the hard drive units. Don't they use lithium ion batteries or some other high-powered cell? I hate having non-standard batteries for every gadget. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Go back to standard cells!!! And weirder is my brother's Logitech wireless desktop suite uses AAAs in the optical mouse and AAs in the keyboard... WTF? Do you already have a Sony PSP? My son has one and got a 2 gb card for it. He uses it as his mp3 player and his gaming/internet machine.
