• Anyone have Petrucci's "rock discipline"

I downloaded this the other day but I think I want to go out and buy it.

It's $50 though, does this DVD come with a book or is it just an overpriced DVD?

thanks guys

Yes, it comes with a book. I think I got mine for something like $35, which I still thought was a bit expensive. But, it's still a cool dvd. If you downloaded the dvd, there is also a book/cd version you might be able to find cheaper.

The book version also includes the "in-between" solos he plays... well.. between the different segments of the DVD, in the beginning and stuff.
I bought the DVD for like 45€, which should be 55-60$, but I find it both entertaining and inspiring, and most of all, useful. Also, if you happen to have seen Marty Friedman's stuff, you get to see a completely different approach on technique, picking and soloing. Definitely good stuff, albeit expensive.

I have a copy of it too. I find the hands and arms warm-up lessons at the very beginning the most useful. The rest of the videos are pretty much what you can find in more "shred" instruction dvd/video/vcd.

My two cents

Yep, pretty standard stuff.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
