I have an older 4G 20 gig ipod in my car and I use a NANO when I run, ride or work out. Both have been flawless since I have had them.

Side not, I love having my entire CD collection in the car with me on my IPOD. Plus I can just drop in my pocket when I get I get out of the car so no one can steal it.

How many songs to you have on your iPods on avg. I need a 60 I am at 9400 on my 40 and I still got stuff to rip. Most people don't get close to filling theirs though it seems.
