On another forum, I recently had a great transaction with another member and today I received the two bottles of cologne he sent me. Unfortunately, the mail system broke one of the bottles in their mishandling of the package. I don't know whether it was USPS or Canada Post that did it, but the end result was the broken bottle in the Ziploc bag. The other bottle looks fine at first glance but I didn't open the Ziploc bag because there was fluid and broken glass everywhere. I don't want to touch it further until we've resolved this issue. What is our next course of action? Here are the pictures. Don't worry, I am conversing with the seller in private to determine what to do next as well. I could just use extra help and opinions.
You can see the box is wet even on the EXTERIOR!!!! The juice really soaked through...
Broken glass and juice everywhere...
There's a little blue sticker on the exterior of the box that says it was shipped Airmail. Can't declare it as fragrance, because customs will instantly confiscate it. It was declared as a gift with a value of $20 to avoid customs opening the package and thus confiscating it. I hope I don't have to eat this loss. The postal system needs to pony up. Even the exterior of the huge plastic bag says it was THEIR fault, not mine or the seller's. The huge bag reads:
We apologize. Dear customer, the enclosed item of mail was either received in this condition or damaged during its processing. We sincerely regret this unfortunate incident and any inconvenience caused. We are always concerned when mail is entrusted to our care is damaged, and we have made considerable improvements to reduce such incidents in our operations. Please be assured that we are continuing to make every effort to improve our service. Warning: Please keep this bag away from young children.
Yeah, I've got a warning for you, Canada Post. Please keep MY packages the hell AWAY from your incompetent staff members, and instead, hire bikini-clad supermodels to personally deliver my stuff directly to my front door in a Ferrari. Oh, and I also get to keep the Ferrari as well. And it's the Ferrari CAR, not the Ferrari FRAGRANCE.
