My Thrash/Death Metal band RUIN... Mp3's, Video

Hey gang!

We spent the weekend in a small studio recording our first demo with one of the bands I play with. We call ourselves RUIN and we play old school Thrash/Death Metal. I uploaded the entire demo on our website: www.ruin666.com

There's also a video of our drummer Tobhias.

Sure, the sound could have been better, but we wanted the raw, old school sound... and the sound guy had never recorded something like us before, so I think he did a decent job actually! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Track 1 lacks some bottom end, I'm going to ask him if he can remix it... track 2 and 3 sound alot better. If you're looking for speed, track 1 and three would probably be the best choice! If you're more of a midtempo person, track 2 is the one... but please feel free to listen to all of 'em!

Oh that's right, forgot some details!

I play my 1989 beat up RR, and Daniel (the other guitarist) plays his early 90's Pro RR. We play through my 5150 and Kustom 4x12 (which sounds surprisingly good for being so cheap!). So it's a twin Jackson guitar attack! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

The only guitar solos are in song number 3 "Falling Down"... I play the first one and Daniel the second.

Sounds pretty good ! [img]/images/graemlins/band.gif[/img] I know it sounds crazy but I kinda hear some 80's "slayer-ish" kinda vibe in the tone and in some of the fills your drummer does - not necessarily in the style but in the overall sound. Hope that wasn't confusing [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] , and certainly not a bad thing !

Yeah, Slayer are the kings, and I love their guitar tone, and I agree that some of the fills are a bit Slayerish, so thanks alot!

Notice that we're absolutely not trying to be a Slayer ripoff, and I honestly don't think we sound like one!

I just received word that Dan Swanö would like to try and remix the recording... he works together with our drummer, and heard the recording this morning!

That made me genuinely happy, because I really think he has potential to make this sound alot better!!!

I think I commented on this before...can't remember now. Did you post when you guys were in the studio recording this and mentioned you used or like the ENGL Blackmore head? Either way, very kickass stuff [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/toast.gif[/img] I like track 3 the best. Good stuff man, congrats to your band

Irfaan, that was the other band I play with: "Chain Of Hate". That recording still isn't mixed, it will hopefully take place sometime this week or next! Yeah, track 3 is our favourite too! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Thanks for the compliments!

I talked to Dan today and got to hear what he had done to song number 3.....

.....and I couldn't FUKKIN believe it!!! It's sick how much better it sounds... he's a true magician!

I hope this doesn't come across as cocky, cause that's not my intention, but this demo will SLAY!! Now you can finally hear what's going on!

The minute I get it (hopefully not later than the beginning of January) you guys will get to hear the result of his skills!
