Anyone have lotsa electronic parts, I need help!!

Howdy...

Basically, im building this....

It's the bottom picture...... I already have the piezo's that I got off Ebay.

I need :

2 x 100k resistors

2 x 1M resistors

2 x 1n4148 Diodes

2 x q1 - bc337 transistors (or similar NPN transistors) 2N3904 works fine

2 x wafers/circuit boards.


Now, im in a Small town in Sask Canada, No one has any of these parts that I need. I've tried calling some cities asking for some help (electronic depots) but I LAUGHED when they told me it would come to roughly 40$ shipped to me. these parts cost pennies at any normal retail specialty shop, yet I cant find anyone willing to help me out, or provide me with some help!!!!

If anyone can help, or has a workshop with these kinda parts, id love any help, and would happily paypal over whatever you want to charge. [email protected]

i sell chips, memory, have sold wafer before but to contract manufacturers in huge quantity. let me see what i can get my grimy hands on for you. on the resistors and stuff it was usually in the 50-100k quantities so i just may have something lying around for you for free. don't hold your breath too long. i'll let you know.

Yah, thats the issue, theres places on Ebay, but they sell in huge quantities. If you can help, I really appreciate it. IF not, no big deal, there is no major hurry, it's basically a project for my E-drum kit!

You should be able to get all those common components at Radio Shack, (for an inflated price) or whatever they call it in Canada now since the name change. You don't have a Radio Shack?

Other places I used to buy from when I lived in Montreal:

Active Electronics
ABRA Electronics
Addison's

No outlets of any of those stores? I beleive they were all national chains.

my friend said he will look at his stock at the end of the day and let me know. he said he would charge me a penny if he has them in stock. so that's 2 cents to you pal if it comes through cuz i gotta make dough like everyone out there ya know!!!???

There was a place around the corner from me called Active Electronics... wall to wall electronics parts... just about anything you could ever need. Of course, they closed down or I would have helped ya out!

That was the only store I knew of around... their site is www.active-tech.ca They seem to be Canaduh based. Thing I dont get is, read their "about us" sections. Says: "Active was founded in 1971 and since that time, has expanded to 10 stores across Canada becoming the largest retailer of its kind in Canada." No mention of any US stores... dont know whats up with that!

i thought they might have went disty (distribution) they were so big . i oughta call 'em today and see if there's anybody left that i know. it's been 4-5 years since i've called but i've shipped boxes to them that's for sure.

Yup, I used to shop at Active all the time when I was an electronics tinkerer.

I think they sold all their US stores to DigiKey in the early or mid 90s.

If nothing else pans out, pm me. I have everything you need. Let me know what wattage the resistors need to be. I can go as small as 1/8 watt.

There ya go. Cool Flametop is takin care of ya. I deal with parts like that all the time and they should be no where near $40.
