Re: 70s rock/80s rock & glam suggestions
Don't forget these...
Sammy Hagar
Meatloaf (I personally can't stand, but there's a market for him)
Tesla!!!
Night Ranger
Mr. Big
Quiet Riot
Fleetwood Mac (my personal favorite band from the 70's)
Kix
Jackyl (Kix and Jackyl cover the southern rock sound 110%)
Bulletboys
Sounds like he'll be more into corperate/pop rock/metal. Faster Pussycat will probably weird the shit out of him unless you play "Babylon" and "Bathroom Wall" first.

This thread is a very very very awesome thread!!
Aerosmith "Dream On". Love that one. I haven't listened to them in awhile, I'm dragging out all my Aerosmith for a good spin. Yes.
Someone mentioned Jimmy Buffett.
Too funny... both the Keith and I are huge parrot heads. We have summer parties that are all about the Buffet. Good times.

We make sure that their invitations are marked for an hour later than the rest of the guests, that way we all get to at least make one round at the buffet before they show up.
Good times.

Yes, he loves Foreigner! Hates Journey though.
I'm getting him pretty much everything from Pro-Fusion's list (thanks, bro!).
But which April Wine and which Cult album should I get him?
What are your favs?
[/ QUOTE ]
No problem--I'm just a '70s kinda guy...
"Nature of the Beast" is the April Wine album with all of the hits on it. Damn good album.

I'm gonna see if I can steer him towards KISS a bit more.
Picked up the first Faster Pussycat too. And some REO and Sweet. I know he loves Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet (he has the TAPE. heh.) so I got him the CD. That tape is about ready to die.

April Wine - Nature of the Beast or Harder, Faster
Cult - Electric
Everybody's named so many good bands for your needs that I can't really add any. Very cool of you getting the Keith a collection together. Now THAT is true love! Ron is the MAN!!!!

Except Aerosmiths version of Train Kept a Rolling.

Heard it yesterday. Awesome song. Aerosmith "Rocks" tour in 76' was good, Sweet Emotion, Back in the Saddle, Last Child.
Another group from the 70's that were great was Chicago. Terry Kath was a dynamite player. Hendrix once said Kath was a better player than him. *(note: he probably wasn't as good a shot as him either) Occupation: Department Director for the Department of Redundancy Department

Terry Kath, its kinda wierd, I was just 19 working in CA for a remodeling contractor, and we had to clean up and repaint the house after the incident, It was just a crappy little rental house in Woodland Hills, really bugged me as I was a big chicago fan back then. what a shame,I say the boy ain't right!
