Hardcore

I was going through my old LPs, and threw some of them on the turntable. I forgot how much I love Agnostic Front, The Crumbsuckers, MOD, The Cro-Mags, MDC, English Dogs, Dead Kennedys, DRI, and all the other old hardcore albums I have.

Anyone into this stuff?

Definitly. One of my best and closest friends plays in several Hardcore bands. There's a young and growing hardcore scene around here, and I go to a couple of gigs and shows now and then. Great energy.

Loved em all, bro. I was going to college in Manhattan in 82-86...height of the NYC/HC days. Saw Agnostic Front and Crumbsuckers a few times. INSANE shows.

Put some of those records on ebay and you'll make some good money. I got big bucks for my original Agnostic Front "Victim in Pain" LP.

Saw the Crumbsucksers back in '88, when they went metal.That show was amazing, the guitarists were really good and B.O.M.B. is still a great cd.Ludichrist was another i liked alot back then.Not much of a hardcore guy myself, but i liked the hardcore/metal bands.

I would never sell them. In fact, my original copy of Victim In Pain is already gone. I lent it to a friend years ago, and never got it back. He claimed he returned it to me, but I know for a fact he didn't. I'm still pissed about that one. I actually have an original copy of that on my Ebay watch list. I'll probably buy it.

Crumbsuckers broke down into Pro-Pain after few years...but there were many many others. Remember when CoC was hardcore/punk? Those were the days man! Eye For An Eye!

CroMags were my favorite until they got too involved in drugs, and less involved with the band and the music.

Then came along bands like Sick Of It All, and the entire scene died! (I actually dug SOIA, but I meant the scene was wiped out after they arrived)

Pro-pain had a few decent songs, but were never as good as The Crumbsuckers. Ken, I gotta go take a pic of my original pressing of Eye for an Eye. I got it signed by everyone in Toronto a few years back. Well everyone except for Eric Eycke. Pepper wrote "Eycke" on the back for some reason. They were all very cool guys. I never got in to Sick of it All. They just didn't do it for me. There were a few bands that came out later that were good. Biohazard for one were very much a hardcore/crossover band and they were awesome.

I like the hardcore Ive heard, but a lot of it is 'pick and choose' hardcore [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
Ive been listening to a lot of Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, Terror, and this Danish band called Morning After (Dont confuse them with the awful Greek band of the same name with the lisping singer).
I like the tough guy image of hardcore - beats the whole "Boo hoo hoo, woe is me" attitude of the majority of modern music!

Yup, used to cover MOD, SOD and SOIA back in the day. Nothing would get a pit started faster. That and the Misfits.

My favorite hardcore band has always been Minor Threat. I guess there are more modern hardcore bands like At The Drive-In and Hopesfall that I like a lot more but I dont really consider these the same type of music.

Bad Brains were the shit! Insane amounts of energy live. Those fukkers could play, too, & HR had one of the most unique & amazing voices of any singer ever, imo.
