...what REALLY happens?
Microsoft Stormtroopers bust through my windows and confiscate my PC? Or does it simply send my computer into Shutdown until I enter a code at the Boot screen/Startup prompt?
I mean, all I did was replace the video card, motherboard, memory, and a PCI firewire card - still using the same old hard drive it was installed on when I bought the computer, and yes it's the only installation for this XP CD, but all I've done is replace a few bits of (admittedly integral) hardware - shouldn't the program be able to recognize the system drive it's on and not be concerned about the BIOS and such being different than it was before?
I mean, I'll admit it's ONLY a 1-800 number and a 4-hour grilling over the phone by some guy in India who decides whether or not I'm lying to him, but it's still a pain in my rump
So really, what's the worst that can happen? I don't get automatic updates?
