• Subvamp/Crankdaddy Rock Syracuse!

Some of you may remember my post about Channukalooza 2 -- the holiday punk rock extravaganza my band put together here in Syracuse. Well, Saturday was the big night, and it was a great party. Five bands, free presents...even a sheetcake (that eventually ended up all over the floor and various attendess. Good stuff.)

Crankdaddy played, and we had a blast as always. We even rolled out a punked out version of "Grandma Got Run over By a Reindeer" for the holidays. But the highlight of the night for me was seeing Tony's band The Suburban Vamps.

They crammed everything into a Durango (very Tetris-like, in its packing)and drove about 6 hours to Syracuse from Maryland. They then proceeded to rock everybody asses off. God damn, what a great band. Darren (the bassist's) parents even flew in from California to see the show. They totally owned the crowd, with their kick ass originals, Misfits and Beatles covers...killer. And Tony is the freaking Shredmaster General. You shoulda seen him tearing it up.

Here are a few photos of the night, so you'll have some idea of the fun.

First, Tony and the Suburban Vamps.

    And now, the revelers:

These two fiery redheads spent the entire evening doing this:

Bottom line...a great night of rockin. My thanks to Tony and his killer band The Suburban Vamps for making the drive and making Channukalooza 2 a great night!

    Absolutely a great time!
The highlight of the evening (besides those grinding redheads!) was Crankdaddy's tune "Velvet Elvis", in which a man is told the future by his velvet Elvis painting. Tom even channeled The King when he put on a pair of Vegas shades(complete with sideburns)and spoke directly to the crowd. I gotta tell ya, that was absolutely the BEST show we have ever played at! Syracuse (and Crankdaddy!) rock!!!!!

                  Re: Subvamp/Crankdaddy Rock Syracuse!

VH1 was a sponsor of hte Battle of the Ad Bands. All the money raised that night went to their Support the Music foundation.

They interviewed all the bands and put them up on their media website. Pretty bitchin, huh?

And if you ever come up here, you don't have to worry about us knowing ya. Crankdaddy fans are treated like royalty!
