What was/is the hardest song, solo, piece for you to learn?

I've had several, but the few that sticks out most are.
Ed's, "intro" to Meanstreet. Love the intro. Took awhile to learn it right.
Rush, The Trees and Broon's Bane. Love Broon's Bane.

Currently working on the movie Cross roads guitar duel at the end. The classical arpeggio section Ralp plays. Nice piece. Its a challenge since my weakness are arpeggios.
Nonehteless, I'm sticking with it.

Several here too, I get frustrated really easily and move on to something else, then come back to it, move on to something else again....it's a viscious circle [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Yngwie instrumental, Far Beyond the Sun. I spent a lot of time on it when that fist came out, after that one Yngwie's stuff was easier for me but that was the first one.

mh...difficult song....nevermore - born and inside four walls, both have quite difficult leads. other than that, yngwie's black star is not really easy. but well, i guess the most difficult song i've ever learned is dream theater - this dying soul

one question: shawn, did you learn far beyond the sun note for note, or do you improvise a few notes in the leads? normally when playing yngwie i try to get the main themes down 100%, and for the leads i usually do my own thing, staying in the ballpark of the original, though.

Jingle Bells, but hey give me credit it was the first song I learned how to play on the guitar.

I still cant do the singing harmonies for Staying Alive. I thought of sticking my balls in a vice to get it down pat, but I figure its just better to do a less than stellar job, because at least I know its better than Ozzy's attempt..........End of story.......

I got their reunion show on DVD and Lindsey's solo is unbelievable, great player and song writer.

Pretty much note for note. I started it by ear and then got it on one of those rock performance guitar method tapes and I tabbed it out based on that, most of it is close but maybe not 100% on. Once I developed my technique enough to play it up to speed, I knew what scales and arppegios being used I stuck pretty close to the original with some improvs and just went for it [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Anything Malmsteen is tough
Anything Macalpine is really tough
Playing Uli Jon Roth perfectly is impossible. Especially his Electric Sun stuff.
