Would it be a bad thing to put a 7.2v 1.2amp battery on a charger that was rated for a 7.2v 1.5amp battery?

Re: Electronics help?
Cool
Since I'm having no luck finding the power supply for my Panasonic camera, I did find a Sony charger that looks very similar - same voltage for the battery and the output (7.2 v battery, 8.4v DC out) but the Milliamps are slightly different.
But I did finally hear back from the guy I got the camera from and he seemed confused that the original power unit was not in the case. Hopefully he simply forgot to put it in and my nightmare will end
$450 in parts alone to build a replacement, and that's without the $40+ cable that actually attaches it to the camera (never mind the fact that the cable itself cannot be found) I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Well, 1.2 amps, "is" 1200 Milliamps. So, they are the same.
As long as the voltage is the same, and polarity on the plugs is the same, should be fine. The battery will only take what it needs.

(I think) Jason was trying to clarify that the battery is rated 1.2 MAH (Milli Amp Hours), not for 1.2 amps. It's a measure of how much current can be delivered over time. It's a way to rate how long a rechargable battery will last.
1.2 Amps would be actual flow (of electrons), not how long the flow can go.

Re: Electronics help?
Well, the amount of capacity that the battery has in irrelevant. I shouldn't have addressed it really, other than making a statement that 1.2 amps and 1200 mA is the same.

That, is basically all I should have said really, because that is what is the question for the most part.

Not really regarding your post, but I've been watch NI-MH batteries "creep up" in storage capacity over the years, especially the AA batteries. They are all AA batteries, but the newer ones have better technology and there "MAH" rating has been going up and up.
My oldest ones are rated 1.2V @ 1200mAh, the newest 1.25V @ 1800mAh.
The new battery reads "Standard Charge 150mA for 14-16 hours", so you need to apply a current of 150mA for a length of time (14-16 hours). When you use the battery, it's just the reverse - a given flow of current over a given length of time.
If Matt's battery is rated 1.2mAh instead of 1.5mAh, his battry will take less time to charge, and will run out of charge faster. The charger should deliver the right amount of current to charge the battery either way.
I'll shut up now

Re: Electronics help?
Of course, the point is potentially moot now - I may have the issue resolved without resorting to physical violence I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
