I can't find GWARGHOULS thread that he posted a few days ago asking for help. I did send him some money and I was looking forward to hearing about how he is doing. Was it moved? Was it deleted? If so, why? He clearly asked that if nobody wanted to send money, he would be happy to have prayers or wishes of better luck. I found it an honorable request and I am happy to help out a bro!

It was moved by me for various reasons ..one of which was the fact that he didn't this without the consent of the administration. Given past issues we no longer condone this practice here... let alone someone personally asking ..

The man is in a dire situation... I'm sure he didn't know he needed to ask permission to post his request. If I was in the same situation, I might have done the same thing. Just because something happened before we're gonna let a JCF bro suffer?

I don't need to be lectured by you on what we are going to and not going to allow here. In the past we did this and had a fiasco ensue, the decision was that ALL collections would no longer be allowed here.... I didn't move it because I had an issue with the indiviual but I certainly think it sucks that he took it upon himself to ASK for money from the membership without finding out whether it would even be allowed ..

Kevin's not alone in this. We've always preferred not to have panhandling on the JCF. We've removed threads before and even had a large thread that discussed it a few times. The one time we let down our guard and help someone out, we get taken.

Exactly. Everyone's got problems and have to deal with them.
And Gwarghoul did say he had a couple of items to get rid of, yet I didn't see an ad in the Classifieds to sell them to help raise any money. Instead, he asked for a hand-out... seems kinda like panhandling to me.
