Too true about Chuck. I really could care less about what people post. I agree with whoever said if you donated money and you feel you got suckered, hey no one twisted your arm. I gave money to help out Rich when he was in a bind and I did so without any expectations. Its no one's fault but my own if I gave him that money and he spent it on weed (which I am sure he didn't). I guess what I am saying is that I don't necessarily think the thread should have been deleted. Then again speaking from experience, it sucks ass to be a moderator. Those who have never been through such a "pleasant" experience have no idea.

Well, no one is holding a gun to anyone's head. And for that matter, in the overall scheme of things, it's not that damn hard. Finally, some of us have moderated boards a lot larger than this one. If you can't handle this minimal pressure, I'd hate to see how you're dealing in "real" life.

well, it's not like being an air traffic controller or anything, but it gets old sometimes and is akin to babysitting. yeah, we choose to be here, and no one's crying on the cross, really. i'm not gonna stand here and say "pity me, it's so hard to run this place" because on the whole, it isn't. yeah, it's a colossal pain in the ass regularly, but whatev.

we knew that this issue was gonna be an ugly one, and while we disagreed with the thread being here, we also agreed that if we yanked the thread, we'd look like uncaring pricks. no real winner in this one. i feel bad for gwarghoul's situation, but i do think that if nothing else, we should have been approached first.

right or wrong, we made the decision to curtail the fundraising threads. had we been approached in the first place about this one, this recent round of GIF probably would have been easily avoided.

that said, i highly recommend everyone kicking back and enjoy the chronic-WHAT-cles of narnia

good times.
