Does anyone here think Thin Lizzy is one of the truly under-rated bands of all time? I just downloaded "Black Rose" and it is freaky good...I have "Jailbreak" and "Dedication" and everytime I listen to any of it, I just get floored. I am seriously thinking about completeing the catalog...All of the different line-ups were kick-ass and man, could Phil write songs!

It's weird, they are kind-of like Corn Flakes...

I really like Corn Flakes but never think about eating them until they are all that is left...Once I pour a bowl, I remember that they are actually pretty good! Thin Lizzy reminds of that...I never think about how great they are until I pop-in a disc. (Then I feel guilty for forgetting, lol!)

awsome band, I like Thunder And Lighting album A LOT, John Sykes played on it, "Holy War" has one of the best solos ever made IMHO.

I just have "Dedication(?)" which is a best of. I like it. "Boy are Back in Town" has one of the greatest guitar tones of all time.

I have all their albums.. beein' a great fan helps..

I think Scott is a very underestimated guitar player, and he held his place well besides Gary.

I'm a huge fan. Every incarnation of Lizzy kicked ass.

yup, big fan here...got into them only last year, now I love a lot of the albums.
I think they're underrated because people never look past "boys are back in town" which is actually just a silly track and not anywhere near Phil's best work....but the simple songs are always the most popular ones! So there ya have it

Gary Moore's Out in the Fields album is fantastic, and is also the last recordings of Phil Lynott, if I'm not mistaken. Great stuff.

I love Thin Lizzy but not with Sykes as the gun slinger. FYI, i 'm a huge Sykes fan, just not his work with Thin Lizzy.

My two cents

Man, that band was a revolving door of guitarists.

Other notables.... Snowy White and Midge Ure!

robertson gorham moore....oh yeah baby!!!

gary has a dvd coming out later this year (march?) called one night in dublin - a tribute to phil lynott. he got like all the famous lizzy guitarists together and they just kick out all the gems - i've seen sneak footage of don't believe a word - gary plays his version and then blitzes the lizzy version - the crowd goes wild!!!

seriously tho - the twin wig out on emerald is pure sex man and with tracks like dn't believe a word massacre and killer without a cause i can't understand why they aren't as big as the zep or deep purple etc
