    Microsoft releases official WMF exploit patch!!!!!

    EVERYBODY!!! Download the official patch here. Make sure you uninstall your third-party unofficial patches first.

    Also, check your Windows Updates, there's a critical update on there as well. I've got both.

    Does that do the same thing as my "Auto Windows Update" I just downloaded?
    Should I do the one on your link also?

          finnman...I have automatic updates enabled also. I checked the log, the automatic update I downloaded today is the same knowledge base number (KB912919) as the one in NOTP's link.

            Normally I'm all for such protection, but you'd think that XP would maybe have some kinda "not now, I'm REALLY busy at the moment" setting so that if you were doing something - say like running a recovery program on a drive that XP probably just lost the keys to, or recovering said files on said drive to another drive, and because of the time it takes to copy said files to said recovery drive it's going to take not only 52 hours to FIND all the files, but God Knows How Long to transfer them - that XP would say "Oh, I'll postpone the restart until this HIGHLY IMPORTANT procedure gets done, and just disable internet access and be sure to throw out a popup that says "internet access disabled until system restart, but please continue backing up the files it took you 52 hours to find"
