Cheech Marin is. Watching "Up in Smoke". At the end where Cheech is in his pink tutu, you can clearly see his guitar has a monkey grip in it. Several Years ahead of Vai.

Cheech and Chong rule, period! I think that guitar had a big duck foot or something for the tremolo bar. Too funny! Those guys are just classic. They were so clever.

quick side note: I truly think cheech and chong were very underrated comedy actors and writers. If you really sit and watch the movies "Next Movie" and "Things are tough all over" and watch the subtle details written into them. The dual roles were classic! The sad part is they got wrote off as "doper humor" and people didnt take them seriously. Sit and watch the classic comic character conflict between them. Cheech is so nervous and wound tight, Chong is so mellow and disconnected. Its classic, they constantly rub each other the wrong way and it makes for some funny scences. Too bad they werent bigger than they were.

That's the stupidest thing on a guitar IMHO anyway ! I don't think I'd wanna be associated with it anyhow !!!
