• I suddenly became a much better guitar player.

I had one of those days, and I'm sure that everyone experiences the same thing. Some days you pick up your guitar, and your goddamn fingers just won't cooperate. Today was not one of those days. I felt like my fingers would just go wherever I willed them to go. I guess that's what it must feel like to be Paul Gilbert or Marty Friedman or whoever. There must be some kind of drug out there that can duplicate these results. I wish I knew what it was.

I was jamming along with Megadeth Rust in Peace, and I got to the beginning of Lucretia, which for some reason I could never get it to flow properly before. I probably haven't played it in 10 years or so, and I couldn't even remember it at first. Even so, I had it down pat almost immediately, and played it effortlessly, way better than I ever have before. I wish I played this well when I was 16.

It's insane, but I have those days when I play the Parker at the store instead of my regular guitars. I'm probably putting a deposit down on one next week.

I have those all the time! and it gets so frustrating when you have a "slow" day...you just have to grind it out for hours on end then!

I love those days. I find that I have them when I am relaxed, like after just a couple cocktails...when I am not thinking about playing...it just happens.

I must be on a roll, I'm having another one. Plus, my amp sounds better than ever. I haven't even had a drink yet today!

Honestly, it might have something to do with my RR1. It just about plays itself. And to think, before I changed the pickups in it, I was thinking about selling it.

the key to having those days is to just relax and enjoy what you are playing without worrying too much about the little details...lol...d.m.

I have those days too, usually after a few days break from playing. Breaks are good for you every now and then.

When I come back after long spells of not playing, and I mean long spells, I somehow am able to spit tunes out like when I take a piss every hour or so. the ideas are flowing, and it only get s better. I may be wrong, but I am a fairly good penner of tunes.

yeah I also have been improving by leaps and bounds lately. it seems every time I pick up a guitar I either learn something new or "get" something I didn't get before.

                      cool shit!!

If you practice for 6 hours today, then tomorrow will be one of those days
