Does 70 sound ok for shipping an amp across the US

Someone made me an offer on my peavey 5150 and I went out to get a shipping quote today.

They told me $70 to ship the amp from Florida to California

does this sound fair?

That's not a horrible price but you can probably do better. I shipped my JSX a lot cheaper. Fedex ground would probably be around $45-$55 insured.

Tell the buyer that's how much it will cost to ship. Then knock yourself out on the packing. It's going C-to-C. You can't pack this too well. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] If he wants it he'll pay. But for that shipping cost, he will expect a "pro" job.

I shipped a DSL 2000 packed in three boxes with two inches of peanuts completely around each box from Ohio to Idaho, for 45 bucks Fed Ex.
