Insurers, for example, will often refuse to pay $150 for a diabetic to see a podiatrist, who can help prevent foot ailments associated with the disease. Nearly all of them, though, cover amputations, which typically cost more than $30,000."

i'm by no means defending health insurance companies, but the employers in many cases will pick what they want covered and what they do not want covered. companies like american airlines have what's called a "self funded" policy. in other words, they pick and choose what will be and what won't be covered and at what levels. they do this because they're the ones paying the claims and such. trust me, health ins companies would love to cover everything; it'd mean a lot more money for them.

You, my dears, are going to have to pay for us as we get older and older and older. We will get what we want in healthcare, or die trying. Watching what my parents go through with their healthcare, and what I'm going through not HAVING it and being over 40, I think it will be the latter there Fett... Die trying...
