Re: Relationships Debate

i do not care for so-called morals. i had an insignificant level of experience with girlfriends because of a disfigurement. my last girl only wanted money so i figured seeing working girls wouldn't really make a difference. i don't like the idea of marriage and consequent lack of sex. i also dislike children in that they require attention, money and patience.

Re: Relationships Debate

OK, so far it seems that the assumption here is this:

Going to Europe = instant Tang (and I don't mean orange flavor)

If you travel overseas and some European girl is ready and willing to "give it up" for you, you can figure that it's not her first go at casual sex. Not that it's a bad thing, unless she picked up an STD or crabs or something equally awesome during a prior experience. Backpacking through Europe with your crotch on fire probably would NOT make it a vacation to remember!

If you have a girlfriend at home and are willing to play the field during your travels, don't except for a double standard to hold later on. Some people become more attached than others, and while that's often assumed to apply to women more than men, it could go both ways. If you bang every "target of opportunity" in Europe, and your girlfriend either 1) finds out and dumps you or 2) has sex with the entire Canadian Football League in your absence, how are you going to react?

Re: Relationships Debate

Endrik you sound like a "normal" teenager to me! I bet most of us had the same opinion when we were younger. That is what being young is all about. There is a lot of truth in the old saying "If you're young and conservative you don't have a heart, if you're old and liberal you don't have a brain." Of course liberal and conservative are relative terms.

Many of my friends that led the screw everything life style when they were younger have a hard time staying commited later in life. Many of them have had STDs and some have STDs that never go away. I have had my fair share, but I never went overboard. I learned enough to know that there is a big difference in sex with a target vs someone you actually care about. So take advantage of your youth, but remember that like most things in life moderation and some common sense is the key. I sound like an old fart...

Yeah, I really have no disire to end my relationship that I am in now. But I know I have given my friends some of the same advice Endrik is giving here... but honestly, is it human nature to stay with one partner, or is that just some mass media bullshit thats been thrown at us sense birth.

[ QUOTE ]
I dunno, have sex with as many girls as you can, experince is very important you know, real woman wants a man who is good in bed.

[/ QUOTE ]

Man is that a misguided sexist attitude. You are 110% wrong and you will fail if that's your guide to having any kind of a steady relationship with a woman.

Real woman want to be treated with respect, feel loved and be a part of a relationship. They want someone who is actually going to listen to them and treat them as their deepest friend and most of all don't play games and lie. If you can support your mate 110% in anything they want in life then the sex will come back to you tenfold.. BTW you can bang as many chicks as you want ..experience will not automatically make you better ... ever hear someone who has been playing guitar for years who simply can't play?

[ QUOTE ]
metallicarocks, well you may say now that you don't care how good the girl is in the bed but when you have lived with her for many years, then you will care. If the chick is lousy in the bed that jacking off is 10 times better, then the bitch must be gone!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

While getting laid as a teenager might be awesome, the fact is that sex gets better with age. Why? Because you get into a relationship with someone you can trust, you learn to be less self absorbed, you learn to be less inhibited by the act and you give more of yourself..With age women will usually be open to trying new things much easier because of trust...

[ QUOTE ]
Most of the people who get married very early are misreable. They haven't seen the REAL life and allready making a family. ughhh! this shit is definetly not for me

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm .. lessee .. I met my wife when I was 17 and I'm 40 now. We started living together at 19 and got married at 24 ... Guess that blows your theory out the window .. I'm very happy, there is no one I would rather spend my time with more than my wife . she's awesome

[ QUOTE ]
And I don't belive in a special person, if you have been for a long time with her, then she isn't so special anymore. You want some fresh meat.

[/ QUOTE ]

See above.. yeah fresh meat can be fun and trust me even at 17 I'd already had a lot but that's a sprint and not the race..

[ QUOTE ]
Go out with girls who are wild and naughty and willing to do some not so regular stuff (threesome etc.) you don't have to love them, just have some good time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm ..that is part of the trust and age issue dude.. They do naughty things because they aren't ashamed to do them ..they are secure in their sexuality over time . .

[ QUOTE ]
But I can't really give you a lot of advice on serious relationship because my longest on lasted 2 weeks and well I cheated too.

[/ QUOTE ]

That say's a lot right there .. Ya know it was funny I was dating this chick back in highschool and found out she was bagging other guys. We obviously didn't last .. If we fast forward to now.. I've been in a commited reationship for 22/23 years and have a 20 year old daughter..

She got married and got divorced because? She was bagging other guys... now she's a single mom with 3 kids ..

It would seem that you know

A) know very little about women
B) Are setting yourself up for a lot of bad relationships
c) Really disrespectful in your views of the opposite sex..

Learn to appreciate women for what they are, beautiful, intelligent playful, loving, nuturing and fun to spend your time with and all the rest will follow 110%

Wow. Kmaynard comes out of nowhere with a whopper of a post.

But how can you have 110%? 100% is the maximum!

Ok but seriously...

I agree with alot of what you just said, but I don't know if ALL women are looking for long term meaningful relationships. See, for some reason men always think that women think so radically differently, but you have guys like Endrik, and you have girls like Endrik (relitivly speaking of course). So they'd be perfect for each other in that kind of sense, while some people would rather just have long meaningful relationships.

My last relationship was six months, and it sucked ass, the only reason I tolerated it was the fact that I was always high... once I quit drugs I punched myself in the face and realized I was going down the wrong path.
I honestly have no intention on breaking up the relationship I am in now (almost a year), but I do-so enjoy these hypothetical cases. So lets question...

[/ QUOTE ]

But this here is just one case, overall most relationships fail. No-matter what age they are. The divorce rate in America is hovering around 50% last time I checked... and that's only people who went far enough to get married. Thousands more would be dating in serious relationships and breaking up without counting that kind of figure. I'm sure every person has had atleast one or two serious relationships before they got married, so the ratio is obviously going to be shot right out the window.
If you look at this mathematically, with age the probability of meeting the perfect someone increases dramatically as you're meeting more people, you know yourself better, and know what you like in other people more. Plus the fact that you're older and have had more time to meet someone. But then again, it is possible to draw an ace of spades out of the deck on the first try... just not very likely.

Re: Relationships Debate

Maybe I can only speak form experience

My mom and dad divorced after 2 yrs of marriage

My wifes parents are still married and have been for 42 years ..her mom was 20 when they met

My good friend was with his wife since his early 20s..great relationship

My daughter godmother and godfather have been together since high school ..

there'a always going to be differences in relationships .. why do they fail? Incompatibility? Maybe, but my view is that divorce and seperation is so much easier now that people don't work very hard to make it work ..

It is easier to head for the door than to deal with emotion sometimes..

I'm not pushing marriage in this by any means and I'm not conservative on this manner.Hell I did everything backwards myself. I just beleive you get so much more from giving and that in itself will make it work ..

My wife and I are one of the few couples we know who support each other fully. Fully meanning if I come home and say I'm spending $5000 on a guitar I don't have to worry about getting thrown out or hit with a frying pan.
When I bought my last harley it was at the direction of my wife to some extent.. it was her that said eh just make yourself happy and get it.. and that's what it is about for us ..support of the other and not control...

now Kev, you make some good points the but there's somethings you need to know

*You are a lucky SOB because you made the 100% right choise, you married with the right person, most of the people don't, they regret it.
*being with many woman helps to improve in sexual techniques, even a little bit
*chicks (at least the chicks who live in my country) want to have plain and simple sex, they have needs like guys have, they want to satisfy their needs. And it's true a lot of them don't care that much about serious relationship where they have a supportive man. So it's not us, the guys the onlyone who want to get laid.
*you don't know me personally but I can assure you that every woman I know can tell you that I'm a true gentelman, I treat them with the deepest respect, I've NEVER done anything un-ethical to a women. Yes, I've had a lot of one-night stands but I wasn't the only one who wanted it. Other than that I'm better than most of the guys when it comes to talking with the women. Who do you thing was the most helpful guy in my class in the highschool? It was me. All the girls asked advice from me, and I helped them a lot. I've spend a lot of time wit girls in school, university etc. They all like to talk to me. Guess I'm not that much of an asshole after all. That being said I really don't brag about my "scores" as much many other guys do.

Re: Relationships Debate

Oh man, that's a completly new element... if a spouse ever said: "Stop playing that guitar so loud" or "Why don't you sell some of those old things" I think I'd have to beat them.

Life is a different road for everyone, which I guess was just proved... so who knows whats in store for themselves? Relationships or otherwise.

Well I don't make issues with one night stands, there's nothing wrong with that imo .. I'm simply saying that the advice you gave was a very narrow point of view ..

You can state you don't disrespect women and are a gentleman ...read your signature file ..

BTW please don't think I'm trying to bust your balls I'm simply trying to show that there are instances where realationships aren't such a bad thing

I'd rather be single the rest of my life now than deal with the shit I went through with my ex-wife! I got together with her in '95, engaged in '96, moved in together in '97, married in '98 at 25 years old; by 2001, the relationship was over. Now that I'm divorced, I now have a savings account and am well better off without the psycho! I'm 33 and don't think I want to have kids now, but I may get married again eventually, but I'm not looking and have no desire to at the moment.
