The PC just shuts off?
Did it do this at any time before you started doing the camcorder thingy? In other words, was your PC stable before using the camcorder?

Other questions:
OS?
Software using with camcorder?

Thinking out loud without knowing anymore than I do at this time:
If your PC was running fine/stable before using the camcorder, the fault may be driver related or you may need alittle more power. You may have maxed out you PSU's power, highly unlikely though. It may be shorting out? The mobo tray or a standoff may be making contact with some part of the mobo, creating a short.

To much to quess without knowing alittle more.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

1) What software you are using.
2) Are you using the 1394 port on the camcorder?
3) Does it work in Windows Movie Maker? (Just the capture part) I am not asking you to put something together in that abomination.
4) Oh yeah.... what camera you using? DV/HDV?

We need more details. What device do you use to get the video to your PC? What program are you using on the PC? What is you operating system? At what point does the PC shut off?

Re: camcorder to computer troubles

i got it fixed. when i was doing it the first time it was literally the first time anybody had plugged in the camera for a month, so it was running from outlet power from the wall. For somereason it worked when the battery was fully charged.

check out the video in the mp3 section...

thanks for the help guys.
