Re: How\'s your hearing?

Over the years of playing, did anyone have any hearing damage? I just noticed a very low hum in my ears, when it's quiet, about six weeks ago. I've haven't wore ear protection since I've been playing, about 11 years ago.
I finally went to an audiologist, had a test done. Had great hearing, but still a low buzz. I ordered these ear plugs, called 'Rock Star' earplugs. Insurance paid for my testing, but had to put out $120 for the plugs. They're specifically designed for me. They squirted this bubble gum feeling crap into my ears to get a molding of the ear canal, then sent them off to be made. It has 6 different filters for it. Should be hear next week.
Don't want to lose the hearing.
Yous guys taking any precautions?

I generally can't hear shit. Doesn't really have anything to do with loud music though. I have had 4 major reconstruction surgeries on my ears. 3 on the left, 1 on the right... The left is just screwed!
Most of the time when fluid builds up in there and I really can't hear anything a night of loud music loosens it up.
So I can honestly tell everyone here, you don't want to fuck up your hearing. It can be a very difficult thing to live with and can be quite humiliating at times.
Wearing ear plugs while jamming out at high volumes or at concerts is one of the smartest things you can do.
