Someone probably posted this already, but I noticed this months Guitar World is a big Randy extravaganza. I did not get a chance to look through it at the store so I can't say about the quality

Re: This months GW has a big Rhoads feature
The guy giving the video thing of how to play Crazy Train does it like no one knows what a harmonic is and how to do them.
The Eric Johnson thing was great. Never seen him play before. Didn't realize that pinky rarely touches the board
The Zakk thing was a bit weak.
Haven't seen the John 5 video yet.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Yup, I got it, next to the pot, next to the porn. Great articles. Randy was almost shot by the other guy in Quiet Riot. Pretty interesting shit. I also didn't know that Randy told Ozzy he was thinking about quitting and Ozzy socked him in the face. Crazy shit!

It was pretty interesting, but kind of gossip-raggish. I know the guy wasn't necessarily a saint like some would like to think, but some of it seemed like they were digging hard for the sordid stuff, even if it was just hearsay. I believe most of what Daisley, Sarzo, & Max Norman had to say. Garni seems like he tends to embellish stuff & Sharon Osbourne has zero credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Re: This months GW has a big Rhoads feature
There was alot more going on then randy just wanting to go to college. He nailed Sharon, ozzy and him fist fighting. Check out this article with Rudy Sarzo
Rock Eyez: When you first met Randy Rhoads what was your impression?
Rudy: "I saw him play before I met him. I have a book called 'Off The Rails' and the publisher at the time, Cherry Lane, suggested a subtitle 'Off The Rails - My Adventures In The Land Of Ozz'. One of the reasons why I chose Cherry Lane was not only because my relationship with John Sticks, the publisher, but also his relationship with Randy. He was the editor of Guitar World and he knew Randy pretty well. I knew the book was going to be a labor of love. But it also happened that Cherry Lane also has the sheet music for the Ozzy/Randy catalog. So when Sharon Osbourne found out the book was going to be hitting the street on September 14th, they put a 'cease and desist' order and applied pressure. After many communications between Cherry Lane's lawyers and the Osbourne lawyers, it finally came down to Sharon writing me a very nasty letter and putting an ultimatum on Cherry Lane that if the book was published, she (Sharon Osbourne) was going to pull the catalog. So the contract was released… right now I have another deal in the works and it's still going to come out — thank God! Also, the Editor in Chief at Guitar World contacted me because they are putting together a tribute to Randy. It's the whole issue and they will be using some excerpts from the book." [NOTE: The issue is available now]
Rudy kept a daily diary on the diary tour, hehehe. Seriously, i guess this book will corroborate Daislys songwriting suit, and dispells the love affair the osbournes had with Randy. Someone on the metal-sludge board mentioned how odd it was that you never saw a picture of Rhoads anywhere in thier house on the osburnes series. And sharon controls the randy rhoads estate.Sad.

Randys mom signed it over to him a few years ago.I read an article somwhere talking about how Randys mom had to sue the osbournes in the 80's for thier share of randys earnings.I believe i read that on Bob Daisleys web site.

"its very sad, that his mother delores, ghad to file a lawsuit in the 80's to get what her son was owed.As she told me later " i just ran out of money, patience and it all became too much.Don Arden told me personally that within days of Randys death, Sharon came into the office to change randys contract. Now in her 80's, Mrs .Rhoads is an old lady Sharon manages Randys estate. He must be turning over in his grave."-
