I must be mistaken. I didn't realize that Zack Wylde is promoting this specific offering. I would think that every magazine and online metal news site would have picked up on it. Heck, it would have made the cover of some magazines.

It's cross-promotion. The diecast choppers were originally packaged with the Epi ZW guitars. You can still find links to the deal at some online stores. Epiphone & 357 probably struck a deal where 357 would provide x number of diecast choppers for the promotion of the guitars, then Epi would provide a much smaller number of guitars for 357 to use in their promotion. I don't think either company is buying from each other. It's like a barter, & each company writes off the wholesale cost of their end of the deal as a promotional expense. WRT to Zakk's relationship with 357, some of the press releases for previous promotions (real chopper & Gibson Custom giveaway was one) are on Blabbermouth if you search. As for the wholesale cost of one of these guitars, I bet it's a lot less than most people think. Don't they make them in China now? With their leverage & volume, I wouldn't be surprised if Gibson can have these made for less than Agile or Essex have their LPs made.

I changed my mind about the sandwich. I'll just have mine fried up in a basket with some fries.

Although.........I've always dreamed about owning electronic devices made by ShenZhen Qing Xin Electronic Technology Co.,Ltd. I wonder if the Epi's are just fakes made by the same company? I'll bet the headstock logo is something like EpiXinLi. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
