  • slayer, you're just NOW feeling a vague hunch that something MIGHT be off? You mean you still can't see the obvious? I did the math even before I finished reading the text of the deal when I first saw it. I guess sometimes you have feel the flame to learn not to touch oven burners.

Ya man, I really trusted these dudes at 357 way too much huh I know I am gambling at this point, but feeling more uneasy everyday. I am really starting to feel that flame at this point and not digging it I am struggling with myself with the fact at if I pull out and everyone that stays in gets their guitars, I will feel like a putz If I stay in and payed $200+ for a cheap diecast and cheap ass MP4, I will feel like a bigger putz Jack.

      • There's nothing wrong with gambling, as long as you recognize it as such and are prepared to lose. I myself am not a gambler, that's why I didn't go in on it.

        • I knew all along this promotion would only work based on the "time value of money". I don't see how anyone can act surprised that they have used the money, and the interest from our initial purchase to fund this promotion. That's not only common sense, but also simple economics.

          • Only one flaw in that theory. You simply cannot accrue that much interest at current rates within a reasonable time frame to fund the orders, even going with highest rates possible with a high risk non-insured bank. By the time you do, inflation will have moved the price of the goods up even higher.

Nah, this is a simple a grab and run job.

            • I won't believe it until I see it. It seems that telling everyone that they will get a refund and the guitar will keep people from initiating the refund until its too late.
              Damn, I love this Interweb.

              • The dumb bastards didn't realize how many guitar-heads would jump at this "deal". For the "Faithful", good luck. For the guys that got out: "Good Call".

                  • I'm sorry, I meant/forgot to state that it would be to help pay for, and to minimize the cost of doing the promotion.

To me the time value of money has come into play for whatever reason. I think it was planned like that from the get go. I believe that is why there was an initial wait of three months. That's been my opinion of it the whole time as it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I know the interest won't pay for it, but it'll sure make it less painful when they have to settle up with Epiphone. I for one do not have a problem with them using the time value of money to their benefit.

                    • Just wait. All they have to do is shut down all communication and that will be that. What's going to happen to them? "3000 people file a class action suit because they paid a little for BS with a guitar included." Yea, and I can sell you.................

                      • I can't find any mention of 357 Customs anymore on Zacks website. They used to have a big banner on the homepage.

I don`t think that is totally true, they want the Models back for the refund, so how can they even claim this Jack.

Is it possible that they made this claim so that people would stop trying to get refunds while believing that in the end 357 would refund their money? I mean I'm emailing them asking to get a refund and they could easily reply with something saying that they won't accept the diecast or cert anymore since they're gonna supposedly give us back our money.

                            • Let's do some simple math here...shall we?

357 says everyone will get their guitars (even if they bail out). Dealer cost on these is probably around $600. Just to be safe we'll say it's $500. So, $500 x 3000 guitars = $1,500,000.00. Does 357 expect anyone to believe that they are gonna give away $1.5M to protect their "Good Name"?

I'll believe it when I see 3 guitars at my door.
