  • I don't think anyone went into this thinking it was a sure thing. To me, buying a $100 gift cert and a cheezy toy to get a free guitar was a good gamble. There was nothing to lose. I got my stuff and no I wouldn't have bought it if the guitar wasn't offered, but so fucking what! I got what I paid for which is all that I ever expected. I can't believe you guys are still saying that anyone got screwed. I knew the risk when I went in and I took it. It was no different than buying a lottery ticket except the odds were better. "You should have seen it coming" is kind of a ridiculous statement. If anyone that got in on this thinking it was a sure thing then they need a wake up call. I'm pretty sure sure that everyone know what the deal was going in. No one got screwed here. Being screwed impies that someone took your money and you got dick. I'm sure the MP3 players will come in. The guitars? we'll have to wait and see.

Think what you want, but I or anyone else who got in on this deal did not get screwed. We took a low risk chance at a free guitar that may or may not pay off.

It took me a full weekend to make up my mind. I didn't get in initially because I knew it sounded too good to be true. After much thought and deliberation, to me it was "Dangerous But Worth the Risk"!

Hell, I've pissed away more money on booze in a weekends time.

Think what you want, but I or anyone else who got in on this deal did not get screwed. We took a low risk chance at a free guitar that may or may not pay off.
Jim's post is 100% dead on...it's all about your perspective.

      • My perspective is, I would never have spent over $200+ for a cheesy diecast and cheap ass MP4 without the guitar, so to me, I will have gottened dicked if I don`t get the guitar. I would mind if it $100+, but not $200+ Jack.

Jack, I understand. I'm in it for $400, but I knew going in that there was a chance of not getting the guitars for whatever reason. Now, I will be severely pissed if I don't get the guitars, but I knew when I placed my order on the deal that there was a qualified risk.

I have received every bit of merchandise that I was due other than the guitars. I'm sure that also helps reinforce in my mind that I'm not going to get scammed. Why would I get my merchandise if I were going to be scammed? IMHO to me being scammed means I give someone "X" amount of dollars, I get jack and shit (i.e. nothing) in return, and they are sitting on a beach somewhere drinking fruity drinks thanks to my contribution. To me, being scammed means you do not have a thing to show for your investment, but that's just my opinion.

I agree, but I am a keep my word type of guy, and if they say Free Guitar with the offer, I expect them to come through with the offer and send a guitar. So to me, if they don`t come through with the guitar, they are liers and misleaders and to some extent scamming to buy their cheap stuff. Jack.

                • I said it earlier. Just be wary of scams. A good scam artist always makes you feel comfortable that they are trying hard and that you should feel bad for them and their unfortunate circumstances. I deal with them my way.

I fully expect them to keep their end of the bargain. If this all pans out in the long run and we get the guitars, then we'll be the poster childs of serving crow.

If it pans out that we don't get the guitars, then we'll be the poster childs of eating crow.

At that point we won't be able to show our faces on the JCF again.

You may feel that way, but I think a lot of people were counting on the guitar and could care less about the merch. With all due respect, I think your post offers people a way out by revising their reasons for getting in on it. "Oh yeah, I KNEW it was a gamble!" Sorry, but the same people saying that now were saying it was a sure thing a month ago. We've all been reading the same thread.

As for crow, nobody needs to eat crow either way, Razor. If you guys were ripped, that just sucks. If you got the guitars by some miracle, that'd be great. But now that you know this guy has taken people for millions in another venture, that has to make a difference. If everybody had know that at the gate, how many of you would've gotten in on this? Very few, and I'd bet far fewer than 10% really went in thinking this was a gamble.

I hope y'all get 'em, but at the 11th - no, 14th - hour, don't change the whole premise. You may have truly seen it as a gamble, Jim, but most who posted here, at HC and at BLS have been posting as though they were counting on them. No offense, but the history is right here.

Which, having said that, makes me wonder how long until people are calling to delete this thread...

I don't understand why anyone would call on this thread to be deleted. There is a lot of good information here, and no one has crossed the line. I think it's a tribute to the type of members on this forum that this discussion has not been overly heated, irrational or deteriorated into name calling.

                        • Well, I guess it's just my perception then. I remember the other thread that was started when all this originally went down and it was my impression that every one was like "What the hell. I'll give it a shot." I always had the sense that this was a gamble. Quite honestly, It shouldn't be a gamble. It should be a sure thing, but like mentioned before, if something is too good to be true it usually is. It seems like a worth while risk to me and I don't regret getting in even if the guitars never show. I'm not saying I'd be happy about it, but it's not like being scammed for $800. I wouldn't have taken that kind of risk. Besides, I don't think it's an all out scam. Ithink it just piss poor management that very well may end up with us not getting the guitars. I still believe that they will ship the guitars, but thats just what my gut tells me.

My only point is that noone should be suprised that this is going down like it is. I know I'm not. I just don't like being refered to as a (for lack of a better term) sucker.

                          It's all good.

As far as this thread getting deleted? I don't see why it would, but honestly, I probably wouldn't care all that much. I only check here to see if any one else has gotten a guitar.

                              • There is no way this thread will be deleted. The JCF has no interest in 357 as a "Board". Some of you have decided to take this to the end, one way or the other. This thread has to continue to the "End".
I am a true ass set to this board.
