  • Is there a program for this?

I'm looking for a program that can take apart mp3 files so you can have only one guitar playing, or only the bass, or only the drums etc. Is there any program for this? If there is please tell me what it is. Thanks

Nothing I've heard of that would do that. A WAV or MP3 is not made of multiple channels that could really be taken apart.

There are some Karaoke programs that seem to sorta EQ out the vocals, that's about all I know of.

Not pysically possible. You can EQ out certain frequencies but remember that there is frequency overlap. i.e a guitar could cover a wide expanse with the lowerend having overlap from bass and the kickdrum, vocals overlapping with the midrange and such.

Your best bet, if you want a vocal removed is just stripping the centre channel. By no means perfect but your best bet.

With the guitars you can get lucky with the panning. Sometimes if you kill either the left or right side you can take out a guitar. Sometimes, but not always. That's probably as good as you can get it.
