Re: Sick-Seller Should Be Banned and the ShotI ema

    1) Tough to say if that's a boy or a girl given hairstyles now and such ..

    2) What's the big deal here? This kid isn't naked or abused it would appear and no one knows the circumstance for the picture.. it could just be humor or something more than we know .. at any rate this kid doesn't look neglected so there are far worse things going on in life to worry about ...

Jeez, you guys are flying waaaaaaay off the handle here. No one took a belt to this kid and beat him senseless, did they? Not that I would (I don't need to), but if I said to my son Seamus, "Do your Dad a favor and put this on for a second so I can take a picture of it" he would, I'd be greatful, and it would be forgotten by dinner (unless he felt he was owed a HotWheel or a Klondike bar for his effort, then it might be remembered at dinner ).

Do you guys even have kids?

I'd just be the type to really feel like total dogshit if I sent a sarcastic or accusatory email asking why the parent of this child dressed "him" in this dress, and was responded with one of my scenarios above (sick, undergoing chemo or something similar). Why would I assume such a thing?

Ok...I agreed if it's a boy, then that's pretty screwed up for comical purposes or not.

Kids are pretty damned resilient, and posing for a single photo like this will not harm that kid. If you've spent anytime at all around little kids, you'd know well that their fingers often go straight from their noses to their mouths, they get rashes where they shouldn't because they don't wipe themselves properly all the time, and a whole host of other little happy scenarios most parents are plently familiar with. You can't count high enough to adequately reflect how many times a little girl will cry real tears about absolutely nothing in a single week. It's hundreds! Is it cruel to pose this kid for that photograph? It entirely depends on how it was done, I think. If it was like I explained above in my other post, I don't think so. If it was "STAND HERE AND SHUT THE HELL UP! NOW SMILE DAMNIT!" then yeah, that's pretty screwed up. But I think a single pic is a little too little to be used to call for someone's head. If the kid's posing for that photo contributes to bringing some much needed cash into the house, he's done a noble thing and helped his familiy (possibly single mom, multiple kids, little income) as well. Bottom line is you can't tell how well a kid is being brought up by a single picture which reflects a strictly single context (auction) event.

My Step-daughter looked like a little boy after we had to shave her head due to lice. That could be the case here.

SOme of you need to get a life, or maybe a real problem...

Why? Because whether boy or girl that kid looks a lot healthier and less "mishandled" than some of the kids I see dropped off at Kindergarten... if you feel the need to point fingers then at least start at the real criminals

Looks like a boy to me. Maybe he realizes at an early age he's gay or wants to be a cross-dresser and he chose to wear the dress.

maybe kids clothes don't sell well on ebay without some kind of clear indication of what size they are. Maybe she got too many emails asking, "will it fit my 3 year old?". so she has a girl, but maybe that dress is too big/small to model on the girl. so the mom gets the son to model it in a pinch. i don't see the big deal.

I've seen far worse on ebay. Just the other day I was looking for a leather vest and came across some fucking poof in nothing but the vest for sale and freaking jock strap. Not sure if he was selling the vest or some ass. Of course there was rainbow shit everywhere so who knows?

I'm with Kevin with this. I just don't see the big deal... I recently discovered a picture from when I was about 3 years old or so where my grandmother dressed me up for Halloween in a dress. Looks like I was supposed to be a pirate or gypsy, but at any rate I turned out fine. No scars, no mental anguish and I have no desires to wear womens clothes today.

                    No Norman Bates syndrome here.

Maybe his mother is the same mother in the Christmas Story. You know, the mother that made her son put on that stupid pink bunny costume, just because his aunt made it.
