[Jack The Riffer]

3 weeks ago today my beloved beagle Roxie died from Antifreeze poisoning. Last week I put a deposit on Boston Terrier from a breeder which I will get in about 4 weeks. Today I adopted Blair a beagle from the local beagle rescue group. She is 1-2 yrs old and is VERY shy and skittish, poor thing must have been abused. This is my new little girl:

I don"t think I could have passed on that face,either,Jack..

We adopted a Pom from a local rescue,and he is having some medical issues,but we had the little snot doing 7 commands in 2 weeks.....Freakin thing is smarter than the kids!!!

We also have a Pom/Chuhuahua mix,and I think she was abused as well....If you even give someone a high five,she goes ballistic..We have worked her to a higher comfort level,but she still has her moments...

Congrats and best of luck with her,I hope the poor girl relaxes and feels at home....

I think you did a great thing and will really have a good companion in this one. We got a shelter dog a few years ago that was almost beyond skittish. For 3 months no one could come in the house wearing a baseball hat or he would flip. He mellowed out though and is really the best dog I have had.

Congratulations Jack! She's really a cute dog. She'll be fine with people who treat her right. I got a black lab several years ago, she was about 1 year old when we got her. Whoever had that dog (neighbors of a co-worker) really jacked with her. She'd pee if you raised your voice and alwyas had her tail between her legs....today that dog is the best family dog anyone could ask for.

We just got another mutt from the shelter, he's 6 weeks old looks like a rottie but his mom was a shepard lol...we dont know what he is but he's ours and we'll find out in due time [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] The Lab needed a buddy which is why we go him....the kids named him Steeler since they won the super bowl.

You've had Boston Terriers before I think. Great, great dogs. Love both of mine.

Igot a beagle on jan 1.Best thing ive bought in years.He's a good kiddo with the cutest face ever. Named him Jakey Lee .Yeah i know, back off......

Some little girls dog died from antifreeze poisoning and now they are passing laws so that manufacturers of antifreeze have to put a chemical that makes the antifreeze taste bad.


On a side note the coolest dog ever was Mel Gibson's in Road Warrior.

She is a good dog and thus far has let us know when she has to go out. She stayed in her crate most of last night but my wife called and said she's been sleeping on the couch today. She's a real sweetheart.
