It's my only option living out in the sticks and want to know if it's worth it. I was looking at Direcway and it's pretty pricy but I need to do something other than this dial up. Any other worthwhile options??

See if DSL is an option,most ISP's have that now..As for the sattelite,I have no personal experience,but had a friend that did...IIRC,the connection was fantastic,but upload was eternal because you have to transmit to the sattelite..Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

DSL and wireless are not options. I live too far out of town for DSL and I have a mountain between me and the towers for wireless! Games wont be an issue and I dont even know what a VPN is so that shouldn't matter. Although the upload speed could be an issue but regardless I'm thinking it has to be better than this dial up garbage.

my parents had it for a bit (dsl service recently expanded out to where they live, so they have that now) and it was realllllly slow; not noticably different than dial-up. I'm sure that's dependant on the service provider, etc though; so just because theirs sucked doesn't mean your will.
(this was in south-central wisconsin, btw)

The tour manager had satellite internet when I was on the Hammerfall tour, as did some of the band members. They seemed to be happy with it, but I didn't see them playing Counterstrike or anything...Comment
