Unfortunatly for most rednecks it has become so popular in the last few years that they can't afford to go to a race without missing a trailer payment.
Every race that I go to (except for Chicagoland) costs me at least $1000 after tix, hotel, food, drinks, etc. I wish it was 15 years ago as far as that is concerned.

Going to a race is an entirely different experience than watching it on TV. Not even close. Unbelievable.

Pay the extra for a pit pass, alot of cool stuff to see.
Oh yeah, its real loud, ripping loud plugs are a necessity.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
I went to the Busch race in KC last year and had a great time. I'm not even really a gearhead and I enjoyed it. 43 cars blow by with no mufflers, burning leaded gasoline...ARRRGHH ARGGHG ARRRGHH!!!! Loud, fumes, beers, and lots of honeys! A lot of $$ and engineering involved these days...not just who has the fastest "shine" car.

Golf wins by a mile on that one, followed by MLB, basketball, tennis, and soccer.
I think they should be forced to do one of three things: either drop the NASCAR acronym, change it to National Association of Specialized CAr Racing, or go back to using stock cars instead of custom-built rods.
