I used to like Nascar, but i am sick of it anymore, It is not racing but like wrestling it is desiged to be entertainment, appeals to same audience too, hmmm, speed channel has turned into the nascar channel, with saturation coverage. I'm be watching F1 and motocross mostly this year.

I have a good friend that's so ate up with nascar you can't get him out of the house if there's a race on. He plans his whole life around the races. I often wonder what he'd do if the house caught on fire during a race! I'm pretty sure he would die with a beer in one hand and a bag of potato chips in the other.

Otherwise, you'd note that Test Cricket is the most boring sport on the planet. You watch 11 fieldsman & 2 batsmen stand around in a large paddock for 5 days, and at the end of it, the game may end in a draw. No fear that your heart will fail while watching a match, although you may be unlucky (or lucky) enough to be put out of your misery by a blow from a cricket ball to the side of the head.

I used to live in Dover, DE just down the road from Dover Downs. It was always a hoot to see the RVs and campers start trailing in and setting up camp twice a year for the big races. Folks would even bring lawnmowers so they could keep the grass short in the fields around their camp spot!

I think they should be forced to do one of three things: either drop the NASCAR acronym, change it to National Association of Specialized CAr Racing, or go back to using stock cars instead of custom-built rods.

So not peeing for 2 1/2 hours qualifies as an athletic event? Maybe when could get a "who could hold it the longest" contest for the olympics! Dude, as an ER nurse, I go for 10 to 12 hours without eating, drinking, or a trip to the restroom. I ain't no athlete.

Sorry if you took offense to my remark,it was only intended to invoke the same reaction as yours was...I have been watching NASCAR races for over 20 years,and although a fan,I also appreciate the opportunity to poke fun at it..Hell,have you ever heard an interview with Elliot Sadler??? Break out the Inbred to English dictionary.....

And on another note,it is quite the admirable profession you have chosen,and I could not imagine what you must experience on a daily basis..As a father of 4 and a 2 time cancer survivor,I have been in hospitals all too often..Many Blessings to you and yours,keep up the good work...
