I am probably late with this, but I just started visiting metacritic and it is great. I also started listening to some of their top albums of 2005.

Here's what I have made it through:

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens - everyone knew it would be good before it was released and it is. Viva la singer-songwriter.
Z by My Morning Jacket - ok so far, maybe it will grow on me a bit more.
Hypermagic Mountain by Lightning Bolt - New and different but who the fuck wants to listen to it?
The Woods by Sleater-Kinney - Super fucking good album.

I saw Sleater-Kinney open for Pearl Jam a few months ago and they were horrible. Possibly one of the worst bands I have ever heard. I was actually looking forward to hearing Mike McCeady's out of tune guitar after being subjected to that torment for thirty minutes. Enjoy the album. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
