Re: sipledome?

Hey let me shed some light here , My last name is Siple.
it's an austrian word from the 1300's Siple means Butcher, Dome is obvious so I guess what your looking at is the word ButcherDome I have no idea what the song is about but I know this is what my last name means. Hope this helps. Siple is no longer a used word in this language as far as I know.

Instead of Testament singing about getting "Into The Pit", now they're singing about getting into the "Butcher Dome".

I have no idea I've never been there & my dad was adopted so he never spoke it around the house.

Re: sipledome?

When I was in Austria they spoke German. They may have their own language, just like there are several dialects in the UK, but I remember everything being in German.

German is spoken in Austria. There is no "Austrian" language. I know, I've been to that beautiful country several times.

Re: sipledome?

Actually, I just solved this. The Testament song is about global warming causing the polar ice caps to melt, causing worldwide flooding and destruction. Peruse the lyrics, shall we?

--------------
Melting ice beneath the wave
Frozen ice sheets
Slowly start to break away
Another cycle has begun
The ice is flowing
The melt down has begun
Fall of siple dome...
The core reveals the past
Of a world once lost...

Shifting ice plates below
without warning
inter glacial sudden death
Land of ice, free to roam
Global warming
The sea will overflow

Sheets below, float in time
Arctic death millenium
Melted ice floods the earth
in twenty thousand years
the process repeats

Under ice the river flows
Swiftly moving
Falling earth into the sea
Death is slowly on the move
The level's rising
and there's nothing we can do
Fall of siple dome...
The core revealed the past
Of a world once lost...

Man will find the climate change
mandatory
Extinction of the human race
Apocalypse millenium
Our world gets colder
to meltdown by the sun

Sheets below, float in time
Arctic death millenium
Melted ice floods the earth
in twenty thousand years
the process repeats

And in the end you will find
under the sea earth will rise
Freezing, melting, oceans, rise...

Solo: Eric

Tidal waves found the shore
Destroying cities
No longer can be recognised
Devastation to us all
The sea will rise
and a world soon to fall

Fall of siple dome...
The core revealed the past...
of a world once lost...
Fall of siple dome!!!
-----------------

The Siple dome refers to a volcano in Antarctica, Mount Siple:

The mountain was named for dashing explorer and possible Chuk relative Paul A. Siple

Hey Ron Thanks, hell of a good read of history & information. I just got off the phone with my Uncle, He is related to our family. I might have to travel to Antartica some day just to see this place.

Because I was raised mostly Japanese when I was just a spud & the Japanese Language dosen't use CK in the spelling of my name. My father always taught me to write it that way. Thats my story, & I'm sticking to it. If it's incorrect then it's all my Dads fault
