yea? My "live in girl friend" and I were together for 9 years (and 3 kids) before we finally got married, over 6 years ago now.

I wasn't afraid to commit, I just didn't see the point since we had already done everything except pay for an expensive antiquated ceremony with some religious connotation that neither of us buy in to.

My wife & I have been together going on 16 years, but have only been married for 5. Making it official changed very little in our relationship, but it made our families happy & cut some of the red tape w/ insurance & tax stuff. Everyone's different though, & for a lot of people I think what Flametop said is dead on.

Every guy has to know his own limitations as far as staying faithful. I can't flirt. I don't trust myself at all, because I was always the straightforward deal-closer type with women. For me, flirting would feel like cheating.
