Re: Best of George Lynch?

Searh You Tube for Dokken or George Lynch and you'll find a lot more cheesey videos. Breaking the Chains comes to mind.

Lynch Mob had two albums, Wicked Sensation and Lynch Mob, self titled.

Re: Best of George Lynch?

There's a couple of Lynch Mob recordings that matter. First would be their debut "Wicked Sensation" then their follow-up "Lynch Mob". Those are awesome. After that George went experimental and tried a rap-rock approach with Lynch Mob, that album was called "Smoke This". Most of us, if not all of us, think it was George's weakest attempt at trying to stay viable.

However after that there are two other recordings, first would be "Syzygy" which is a 3-song EP with the original line-up. (one of my favorite recordings) And lastly would be the latest attempt, and a good one in my opinion, of George trying to stay current. It's called "REvolution" which is George reuniting with original bassist Anthony Esposito and "Lynch Mob" album singer Robert Mason and adding drummer Anthony "Fro" Frowein. George recorded and "modernized" Lynch Mob and Dokken songs.

Lynch/Pilson project was pretty good also

Re: Best of George Lynch?

George plays like a freaking mutha, melodic and intense feel w/ alot of taste. Great tone..I liked his occasional use of feedback too.

Back for the Attack w/ Dokken was a fav
Sacred Groove-solo..another fav (well save for the two parter where Mandy Lion gets a shot at vocals, gotta be in a mood for that entire thing-very sexual song, great if ya want to drop a strong "I wanna screw" suggestion)

Lock n Key, Tooth and Nail with Dokken have some killer solos. As mentioned, the Lynch Mob stuff is great too..I kinda wear out on it after playing one side or a handful of tunes, to me..it loses its freshness if you dont take a break from it much like taking in a bar act for 3 hours.

Re: Best of George Lynch?

George's playing is interesting, melodic, out of the box and VERY unique. He is acutally a very versatile player. George administers many different vibratos and cool tricks. And he is one of the guys who never shows all his chops in one solo. He plays with feel instead of super fast scales up and down.

Reminds me when he was on the cover of GP back in the 80's (like '87,'88 I believe) I was kinda surprised to read in his article when the interviwer asks what he thought of Yngwie..he said "who?"...I thought, man, what a slam, pretty ballsy.
I think that might've set off the whole "Yngwie f*cking Malmsteen, that's who!" type of attitude in Yngwie. Equally ballsy of him to have put it on a T-shirt.

Ahh, the 80's. Everyone vying for the top slot and ya have Vai actually taking it time and time again.

Did you see that tour? I did. And in Chicago I believe Yngwie was sabotaging George's set. The power went out several times in that show. I talked with Marten Andersson (bassist for that tour and bassist for Lizzy Borden, Legacy, and Starwood) and he basically confirmed that it's been like that most of the tour.
