    WTF is going on in Chicago? Richard Daley=NAZI

    First, this asshole hijacks the Meigs Field, the most historic airport in the nation, then wants cameras installed in private business (to see what your doing)? What’s next, your bedroom!! Mayor Richard Daley......your are a @$#%NAZI!!!! Last time I checked, Chicago, Illinois was in the United States of America.

    I hate that last line, more then anything. Its what they said when they brought a drug dog into my school, what they said about the hundred cameras all over my school. Anyone who says that needs an asskicking.

    I understand a need for safety, thats why Chicago has a police force. I also understand all the dumb ways the officals of Chicago decide to spy on us, under the guise of safety and progress.         Out of ignorance and apathy many give their rights away and nations and governments make advancements. Later when its too late, many realize their error(ignorance and apathy)and redirect the blame and attention by pointer their fingers back at their leaders. Amazingly most of it wouldn't have happened if they would have informed themselves (learn what the government/leaders do through the vaque wording of laws (big open holes to use as manipulation to their advantage and its perfectly legal to a point) and voted. Even today, they are finding ways to get around the power of a vote to not halt or hinder progress.

          It will and some of it is happening right now. We just don't know about it. IPASS is just a start... GW knows how much PORN I look at while I'm on my computer... shit he probably knows what show I'm watching on TV too......

            It can be stopped... it´s called voting and being a part of the decision making process.. most notably voting with your wallet, by for example not patronizing busibnesses where these cameras are in place. If that means taking a hit and going to another town to shop , then do that.

            And if all else fails, there´s always open revolt and rebellion... we did it once before and if we absolutely have to we´ll do it again [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

            As long as everyone is self centered "OMG, to do what I feel would be right would cost me a dollar a day more, I can´t afford that, I have DVDs to buy",they´ll continue to go because the government knows exactly that we´re too lazy to do anything about it..

                  You guys really need to know how Chicago politics works before you criticize it. Then you also need to read a bit more to realize that the majority of the people in the city who are affected by this are actually for it.

                  Cameras have been installed around the city at some of it's highest crime areas. It was controversial then. But now that the results are in and it has made a noticable improvement on crime statistics in that area.

                  You don't want to get me started on Meigs. Historical? Bah! Historically it shouldn't have been there!

                      Tearing down a lot of those area has improved Chicago dramatically! The city is better than it has been in a long time. There is always something new going up. I don't know how much the cameras have affected the city, but I do know when the bad areas are no longer there, that crime will diminish.

                        The areas that I mentioned were not subject to any changes.

                        Tearing down the "bad areas" and building anew will not solve the problem. Criminals need a place to live too.

                          I've seen the old projects that are now luxury apartments and lofts..... No improvements in crime in those areas? I'm not saying against what you were saying in the earlier comment, but I do know that if you "move" out the bad and in come the new..... it will be better. Were exactly are the bad-area cameras anyways?? I never have noticed them while I am in Chicago. but then again..... I'm not hanging out in the bad areas.

                            Criminals don't have rights. Period. It's the trade-off they agree to. When they decide the law doesn't apply to them, then the law does not apply in their favor.

                              The "bad" has to go somewhere. (and Newc, I'm talking about before they're caught) By tearing down their homes you've only forced them to relocate. You've also uprooted some lower income families whose only crime is poverty.

                              I'm not exactly sure where the cameras are, I also don't hang out in the bad areas either, but I believe they're somewhere on the West side. For some reason Ashland and Washington pops into my head.
