  • Sometimes Salvation

    To lessen my troubles
I stopped hanging out with vultures
    And empty saviours like you
I wish I had a nickel for every miracle
That you easily tricked me into

You can lead a horse to water
    But faith is another matter
    So don't you surrender
    Cause sometimes salvation
In the eye of the storm

    I've no time for accusations
Or conversations on all the bad, bad things you do.
Just a note from your jailor
    Drugs and the relations
To all the people around you

You can lead a horse to water
    But faith is another matter
    So don't you surrender
    Cause sometimes salvation
In the eye of the storm

    I've kept secret your superstitions
    And all its twisted wisdom
    That I fell into

Sister can you try and find me?
Not helping the situation since 1965!

That is one of my all-time favorite songs and contains one of the best sounding solos I've ever heard IMO.

I caught them at the Hammerstein in NYC last March. Awesome show. I saw them on Good friday so you know they played that song. Unfortunately they didn't play Salvation that night, but I have bootlegs of each of the seven shows they played there and Salvation is on at least one of the shows.

They really peaked on the SHMC disc. I love SYMM and Amorica but that one is hands down the best.

Man I love that tune. I love the Crowes.

While I love them all, Harmony is the best record Although one of my favorite tunes is Horse Head off of By your side. In my opinion a very underatted disc.

Crows have always had it going on. Came into my life at just the right time too, I wore out at least one of their disks a while back.

                      Re: Sometimes Salvation

The first song that I ever learned how to play from start to finish was "She Talks To Angels" when I was about 15 and I've been a big fan of the Crowes ever since. Rich and Chris Robinson are just an awesome musical force! My all time favorite Crowes tune is definitely "Sister Luck"! Always brings me back to a place and time remembered. When I first fell for a girl. Whom I will never forget.
