• Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts

Some of you may know that word and phrase origins are a special interest of mine...I started to think about the childhood songs we used to sing in this area, and wondered how widespread certain songs are. I recall GGGG as an "anti-girl" song from about 3rd or 4th grade? This would've been in the mid 1970s, and it was sorta sung to the tune of "Old Gray Mare". These are the Bellflower, California lyrics version:

Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts
Chopped up monkey butts
Insulated toilet seats
Two fried eyeballs
Rolling down the muddy streets
That's what girls are made of!

Heh, sounds kinda like gore metal

Here's an article with alternate versions:

Do any of you recognize the song? Was it exactly like I wrote above? What were your variants? Also list area of country this was in (if different from your profile location) and year.

I recall a variation of this...

Great (something) globs of greasy, grimy gopher guts
(something) monkey feet
Chopped up baby parakeet!

I seem to recall it being in "Runaway Ralph" or "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" or some such kids book.

Or an Anal Blast song.

My version is similar to Inazone's.

Great green globs of greasy grimy gopher guts
(???)-lated monkey feet
Chopped up baby parakeet

It may have been from one of the "Ramona the Pest" books.

As a time reference, I was born in '72, entered grade school in '78.

As a geographical reference, I grew up on Long Island, NY.

EDIT: Clicked on the link in the first post. The second line was "mutilated monkey feet".

Here goes as far as I know:

Gobs and gobs of greasy grimy guts

Mutilated monkey meat

Concentrated birdie feet

These are things I really, really like to eat

This isn't a song, but I sometimes say that something.....

"sucks slimy green diseased day-old donkey dicks."

...and sometimes I'll add....

"....with a side of deep-fried hairy rat asses."

Does that help?

I think that's where I got it as well - I seem to faintly recall hearing it sung in chorus by kids.
