Some of you may know that word and phrase origins are a special interest of mine...I started to think about the childhood songs we used to sing in this area, and wondered how widespread certain songs are. I recall GGGG as an "anti-girl" song from about 3rd or 4th grade? This would've been in the mid 1970s, and it was sorta sung to the tune of "Old Gray Mare". These are the Bellflower, California lyrics version:
