You never know what kind of background people have regarding that stuff; she might feel the same way about you that you feel about her, but she may also have some issue in her past where trying to steal a kiss would trigger a flashback of being molested. You just never know.

Don't dive for the muff just yet - do the friendship thing, but let her know she's more than just a "pal", otherwise she'll end up taking you for a brother and telling you about the guy she's going out with and whining to you about this relationship or that relationship, "but you'll always be like a brother to me".
That's the deepest nail in the coffin - knowing she'll never think of you as anything more than that.

Be direct, but be civil. Ask her if she's got a boyfriend. If she says no, ask her if she's interested in having one, but say it in a way that suggests YOU as that boyfriend, not like a "just asking" type of question.

If you try too hard to be her friend, and not try hard enough to be her boyfriend, then you'll be stuck in her "just a friend" column.

Remember, just because you're dating doesn't mean you have to bone. You can still go and do things as friends like movies, coffee, lunch, or whatever, but at least you'll have it "in stone" that you and her are dating in the event someone else asks either of you out.

truth my ass, I have a lot of firends who are girls (even more than guys), I would never sleep with them, yes they are hot has hell but NO, it would ruin the firendship.

and I'm long since grown up and married with kids and a house and pets and all that, and looking back on it, I know now that I did it all the wrong way, to my detriment. so if I can steer other guys away from the mistakes that I made, then so much the better.

you should check out the Tom Leykis show, you'll probably hate it to begin with but inevitably the logic of what he is telling people wins out. one of those things is that marriage brings zero benefit to men, but plenty of benefits to women. that kind of statement makes most women very uncomfortable because it is against everything women want men to know, and it is also quite true.

It is the 100% truth, in most circumstances. Most girls that guys are friends with are either girls they already slept with, but for some reason aren't sleeping with now...wanted to sleep with but ended up as friends, still want to sleep with and are holding out for that, or came with their current girlfriend...so they are tolerated, or they are lusted after.
