Sorry dude... No I wouldn't do the same thing. I have had delivery jobs where I am in and out of places in just seconds, but every time I would turn the car off and lock the doors.

If I'm that cautious with shit that doesn't even belong to me think how cautious I'd be if I had kids.

There's where you are wrong... it is her fault.
It's irresponsible for any parent to leave a child in a situation like that.
I'm sorry if the truth sounds harsh, but life is harsh and there are people out there who could give a rats ass about anyone else. 2 minutes or 2 seconds... doesn't matter, you never leave a child unattended in a vehicle, running or not.

I wouldnt leave my kids in a car for 2 minutes in any part of town.

She never went further than 2 ft away from the van.she got out, went to the back of the opened the back turned around to load the boxes in, and in that time of turning around is when it happened. Leaving it running was the dumd .

It would be the same thing as at the grochery store. Load the kid in 1st, than go around to the back of the van and start loading the food in

Yeah, she was wrong, but who didn't sleep in the car while mamma went shopping in the 1970s? Who didn't ride bikes all day long and not check in? Who didn't walk to the store alone 2 blcks away?

The society is broken. Youu SHOULD be able to do this, sadly it's the tweaker's fault first off.

No, in this day and age, you can't let the kids do whatever or leave them unattended, but you SHOULD be able to.

It is 90% society's fault and 10% her fault. Still, she can't do that in this and it should be aired on the news so people don't think it's still ok to do this.

Regardless she was an easy target, especially if she left her van running and did that frequently...someone was watching and knew her routine.

The world is a different place people you can't do the same things we used to do when we were kids. People have to adapt to the change and be aware of how fucked up this world that we live in can be.

Especially when my daughter was a baby and even now that she is seven she never gets left in the car. If we go any where she goes in with. If I have to go into a store to pay for gas she goes with. In TX it's not just a matter of someone taking your kid it is also a matter of them baking in the car. Out of sight is out of mind, go into a store or anywhere and loose focus on your kid, shit can happen.
