um, there's this band called Led Zeppelin. they were from the 1970's. I heard they played a lot of blues based rock.

Never heard of em. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have to download some albums and listen to them in school tommorrow.
If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table.
what about stevie ray vaughan? he was pretty rock and blues...funny noone's mentioned dear ol' jimi... or clapton... or kossoff... infact Michael schenker is very like jimmy page as well....
I guess I was thinking of lesser known dudes but as mentioned above Johnny Winter and Jimi are must have's if you don't already. How about the first winter album and the "blues" cd of jimi stuff.
Jimmy Thackery is very cool. Tinsley Ellis has some cool stuff as well. The Gary Moore blues albums are definitely rocking. Dave Hole is excellent...Junior Brown is awesome, great tone. Hendrix is certainly blues based rock...so is ZZ Top, especially the early stuff. Robin Trower may peak your interest...get Bridge of Sighs....

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.
