Haha!! Fake isn't the word I'd use.

I've been in the martial arts since I was knee high to a snakes ass and I love boxing, but I have to say I'd be hesitant to get in the ring with some of these mongos. Totally different rules of ass stompin'!

But I'd probably be stupid enough to try to impress one of those sweet little Asian babes... That's the kind of stuff that makes a normal man do stupid shit!

I love the UFC..me and my boy love watching it..

I liked it much better when it just out in the late 80's..but it was banned..yes banned.. even on pay per view because it was too "Violent"..

It took a "reality show" to make it "cool" I guess...ain't that a bitch..Hey whatever works..

          UFC is awesome!

Nah tough man was a different thing i think. As far as I remember, a couple years back, Tough Man was a show where they took normal guys, not boxers or anything ( some were i think) and put them in the ring.

              I may be wrong though...

Nah..it was the UFC...Tank Abott was brand new..um...trying to think of some names..Ken Shamrock was fresh, Hoyce Gracie (sp) , Dan the bull Severen (sp)...this went until the early 90's..then poof...gone.

Chuck and Randy wasn't a big deal..I don't think they were around yet..

Oh that "let's get it on" ref was there back then..

I watched the Tough Man too..I think that's where Butterbean came from..

                          Re: any UFC Fans here?

                          > I have 2 friends that are all about Mixed Martial Arts, and are Gracie-certified Brazilian Ju-Jitsu instructors, and they got me watching it again after I lost track of it when Royce, pronounced Hoyce Gracie retired. It was WAY rougher back then, and the matches were 1 60 minute round. Royce fought in the first SuperFight against the undefeated Russian champion Taktarov. The match wound up on the mat,and stayed pretty much neutral for about 30 minutes of non-stop grappling. Taktarov started to panic and Gracie manhandled the shit out of him, breaking enough bones in succession he passed out and was carried out on a stretcher, and 45 seconds before the fight ended it looked like it would end in a draw. In those last 45 seconds,Gracie broke 4 ribs, both arms, both collarbones, his wrist and ruptured a knee capsule. I'd like to see Couture or Liddell fight Andrei Arlovsky, the current Heavyweight Champ. A guy that my friends know real well is Mike Powell,a champion in his own right and he has helped train guys like Liddell,B.J. Penn,Frank Trigg and Middleweight dominator Matt Hughes. Pride is really cool too,and much rougher if you like that. Tommy D.

yeah, it was bit more brutal back then...you could go Christmas shopping and come back home during a typical Royce Gracie match...and it would be still going..he had the longest matches!!

PRIDE is to UFC as Japanese Pro Wrestling is to American Pro Wrestling. Which is to say way way superior. If you ever watch a main event PPV match from a japanese promotion (NOAH or New Japan or whatever) and then watch main event PPV match from WWF or whatever the hell its called now, you will see the huge difference.
